Stay positive and manage stress
The Wessex carers and staff attended a training day at Middlemoor called ‘Building Resilience to Stress Less’. We had small group of us including a number of very experienced foster carers who had a wealth of experience to share about how to manage stress and stay emotionally resilient.
We covered the effects of stress on the body, and recognising the signs and symptoms. We discussed ways to ensure that we were able to stay healthy and the importance of exercise and making time for ourselves to do the things we enjoy such as seeing friends, family and pursuing our hobbies.
We completed a number of games, group exercises and discussions which resulted in an informative and useful day of training.
