Drugs and Alcohol Training – 8 June 2016
A very valuable training session was held on Wednesday 8 June 2016 at The Fostering Foundation South West Office with a focus to develop Foster Carers knowledge and awareness of the current concerns of Drug misuse for children and young people.
The course aim was to raise awareness that people of all ages can suffer the harmful consequences of drug abuse and addiction. Certainly research indicates that young people who experience substantial changes in their lives can be more at risk.
Spotting the signs early and supporting young people is a key focus for the team within The Fostering Foundation. We feel very strongly that preventing early use of drugs or alcohol may go a long way in reducing these risks. If we can prevent young people from experimenting with drugs, we can prevent drug addiction from developing.
A successful day with extremely positive feedback from all those who attended.
A big thank you to Graham Verrall who very kindly delivered the training to our carers.
