The Fostering Foundation are looking for Independent Panel Members
We are currently looking to recruit new Independent panel members for our Independent Fostering Panel.
The Fostering Panel is an integral and essential part of our service and comprises of a group of people who contribute to all fostering panel functions including; making recommendations on the assessment and approval of foster carer applicants, foster carer reviews and terminations of approval and be able to demonstrate a thorough and robust approach to assessing written information.
The role requires a commitment to a regular daytime meeting at least every 12 weeks and a willingness to read the relevant reports and papers before each meeting. The meetings are held in Tavistock, Bristol and Exeter area. Full training and support are provided, and there is payment for each meeting attended as well as travel expenses and lunch.
- Panel Members receive induction and training and will be appraised annually.
- Applicants will receive panel paperwork electronically so should have secure access to a laptop (or similar).
- All applicants will be required to undertake a DBS check and provide 2 references as part of the application process.
We are particularly interested in hearing from people with direct personal experience of the care system, either as a care leaver, as a foster carer, or as a birth child of a foster carer or LA social workers, professionals from a medical or educational background.
